Dubai metro is a good option for the budget travelers. The trains are frequent (2 minutes to 7 minutes). Metro is well connected to many places. If you are traveling for a short trip better take a silver Nol card which is 25 AED with 19 AED value. Same zone travel will cost AED 3 and 3 plus zone will be AED 7.5.
